Kill your Twitter robot asap!

Saving time and being more productive is great!

But sending auto "thank you" messages for every new follower, has nothing to do with saving time and being more productive. There is no personalization to these messages, so they have a boring and impersonal approach:

"Thank you for following us. Like our Facebook Page, subscribe to our blog, follow these 357 Twitter accounts".

How rude! I know you for less than 30 seconds and I am already trying to sell you my stuff.

Robots are not social and you still use it in social media. It doesn't make sense.

When someone follows me, I take the time to look their profile info and recent tweets. If they look interesting and engaging, I'll send them a public @mention style thanks for following message. This often leads to a conversation which in turn leads me to check out their website or whatever it is they are selling.

Social media are made from humans to be used by humans.

Do you still want to use your robot?
