4 Web Design Trends for 2014

Let's take a look at four web design trends that are currently rulling the space and will continue to do in 2014.

Content still is the King

Content has always been the king and it still is. Great headlines will make the user visit the site, but it's the content that will make them stay for a long lasting relationship. Designers create beautiful and interactive experiences for the user to reach the content, but the latter is the actual reason for their visits. So, quality is the most important factor for your site's success.

Think Big and Bold

A big trend right now is to display one line of text in bold over a full screen photo background. Big words are actionable and become popular because of their quick and digestible usability. Designers are using minimal fonts from websites to mobile apps. Big is beautiful now and everyone likes to click on nice readable words and buttons.

Flat Design Blossoms

Flat design is a design philosophy that refers to simplicity, clarity, straight lines & square corners and often bright colors. Web pages built with flat design philosophy don't have dimensionality, shadows and textures. Typography and color lead the design, with this trend rising up over 2013, along with the introduction of iOS 7, which is based on this design philosophy.

Videos instead of Text and Static Graphics

Remember Flash? Well, designers too. Motion graphics are highly regarded by web designers, but now via HTML5 Canvas Video. That way, you can add dynamism and storytell in a better way. A picture is worth a thousand words. A video?

Keeping these trends in mind, is essential for building a website that looks fresh and provides great web experiences that lead to quality content.
